Paul Hata asked:

What is Green Living – Green Living is a life philosophy. Proponents of green living aims to conduct their lives in such a way that they have an all encompassing awareness of saving the earth and its environment.

As a supporter of Green living, you carry out your life in an eco-friendly and responsible manner, an attempt to minimize the size of your ecological footprint. Green living includes the conservation of resources, recycling, sustainability, green construction, alternative energy, organic food choices and other environmental topics.

Green Lifestyle – Each choice you make requires a consideration of the consequences of the choice, and the way that the decision will affect the environment and all living things within it. Ecological consciousness and care for the earth are of paramount importance in the decision-making process.By minimizing their “ecological footprints” – the extent to which they create an environmental impact, proponents of green living hope to preserve the earth for future generations of human beings and other life.

Green Technology – Green technology is essential for the conservation of energy, soil health, green building, environmentally preferred purchasing, green chemistry and green nanotechnology.Developing green technology includes toxic-waste-eating trees, smart electricity grids and floating environmental sensors. Then there is the alternative-energy home fueling station that could jump-start the long-awaited hydrogen economy. This technology may seem far out-but it will probably be here a lot sooner than we think.

Green Building – Green building is basically the practice of using eco-friendly building materials and designing homes and offices to be more energy efficient.A zero-energy building has no net energy consumption when measured across a year’s time. It uses alternative energy sources like solar and wind power. Both zero- and low-energy buildings are great for green living.

Green Energy – Green technologist aims produce energy without burning all the world’s coal and using all the world’s fossil fuels and natural resources. Alternative energy is related to green living as it includes energy alternatives to traditional fossil fuels. The main drive behind alternative energy is to find renewable, eco-friendly sources of energy like solar or wind power.

Organic Food – Organic food refers to food items that are produced, processed and packaged without using chemicals. Organic food is increasingly becoming popular due to its perceived health benefits over conventional food. Droves of people are turning to organic produce as a way to feel safer about the foods they eat. People are worried about the foods they put into their bodies. With all of the reports of food poisoning from fruits and vegetables, many people are worried about what they are eating.

Renewable Energy – Strictly speaking, renewable energy is energy that is replenished at the same rate it’s used. As the center of green living, renewable energy encourages use of solar, wind, and other alternative forms of energy.

Solar Energy – Solar energy is the conversion of the sun’s rays to energy, very good for green living. Active solar technology uses electrical or mechanical equipment to convert the sun’s rays into usable energy for heating or whatever. Passive solar technology does not use any outside non-solar energy.

Sustainablility – Sustainability, central to green living, is about preserving the environment and natural resources for years to come. It is the process of maintaining a small ecological footprint so that one’s life has no permanent detrimental effect on the earth. There are specific fields within it like sustainable architecture, sustainable agriculture, and sustainable development.Green living habits are worthwhile no matter what our circumstances – privileged or not.

If you are looking for some information on how to build a windmill, you can find it here and at the same time if you decide in favor of putting your own windmill in the backyard of your house, you will be doing tremendous job to improve our environment. You can build a windmill your own like many other people’s do and can start nurturing our environment by reducing the pollution caused by conventional electricity being produced by large coal, gas or nuclear power plants.

Building a windmill does not require you to be an engineer or a physicist, however if you can follow simple steps as provided below, you can build a windmill your own and can start producing green electricity. You will not only save your hundreds of dollars per month, but you will also contribute to the environment by making it safe for our next generation. If you build a windmill, you can have a potential of saving huge electricity bills up to the tune of 80 percent per month especially if you get sufficient wind in your area.

If you have decided to build a windmill, you will need to know the details of raw materials required for your windmill generator. Getting a readymade windmill generators from the market is a costly option and you should avoid it as it might cost you above $2000 dollars, however if you build a windmill your own you will have to spend a mare $200 on raw materials and other accessories and can start producing electricity in less than 10% of the market price.

You should prefer to build a windmill with the help of easy step-by-step instructions available at Internet in the form of a guide and once you go through the guide, you can do the job yourself.

James Copper asked:

Green energy refers to the use of power that is not only more efficient than fossil fuel but that is friendly to the environment as well. Green energy is generally defined as energy sources that dont pollute and are renewable.

There are several categories of green energy. They are anaerobic digestion, wind power, geothermal power, hydropower on a small scale, biomass power, solar power and wave power. Waste incineration can even be a source of green energy.

Nuclear power plants claim that they produce green energy as well, though this source is fraught with controversy, as we all know. While nuclear energy may be sustainable, may be considered renewable and does not pollute the atmosphere while it is producing energy, its waste does pollute the biosphere as it is released.

The transport, mining and phases before and after production of nuclear energy does produce and release carbon dioxide and similar destructive greenhouse gases. When we read of green energy, therefore, we rarely see nuclear power included.

Those who support nuclear energy say that nuclear waste is not, in fact, released into our earths biosphere during its normal production cycle. They stress as well that the carbon dioxide that nuclear energy production releases is comparable, in terms of each kilowatt hour of electricity, to such sources of green energy as wind power.

As an example of the green energy production the average wind turbine, such as the one in Reading England, can produce enough energy daily to be the only energy source for 1000 households.

Many countries now offer household and commercial consumers to opt for total use of green energy. They do this one of two ways. Consumers can buy their electricity from a company that only uses renewable green energy technology, or they can buy from their general supplies such as the local utility company who then buys from green energy resources only as much of a supply as consumers pay for.

The latter is generally a more cost – efficient way of supplying a home or office with green energy, as the supplier can reap the economic benefits of a mass purchase. Green energy generally costs more per kilowatt hour than standard fossil fuel energy.

Consumers can also purchase green energy certificates, which are alternately referred to as green tags or green certificates. These are available in both Europe and the United States, and are the most convenient method for the average consumer to support green energy. More than 35 million European households and one million American households now buy these green energy certificates.

While green energy is a great step in the direction of keeping our environment healthy and our air as pollutant free as possible, it must be noted that no matter what the energy, it will negatively impact the environment to some extent.

Every energy source, green or otherwise, requires energy. The production of this energy will create pollution during its manufacture. Green energys impact is minimal, however.

EEN

Serenity Movers is in the process of turning its complete operation to Environmentally Friendly. Below is a list of the small contribution we make for the environment.

1. Beginning May 1, 2008 we will fuel our trucks with BIO DISEL.

2. All paper products we use are 100% recycled.

3. Participating in the NYS program, buying only green energy supplies for our office.

4. All recyclables boxes are collected and sent to the recycling center.

5. We only use florescent energy saving light bulbs at our offices.

6. Plastic container will be soon available for rent, replacing the cardboard boxes.

WHY US?

When you truly consider the facts – when you add up all the numbers – we undeniably offer more value. Sometimes you have to look beyond the price and consider it all, a honest moving ‘quote’ as well as quality, fun movers to work with– are all part of the package. There is a cost to “cheap movers” – don’t get “burned” by it.

FENG SHUI

Feng Shui is literally translated into “wind & water”. It is the term used to describe the art & science of the natural flow of energy, as it applies to your environment. For the individual person, this means their home or it can also be applied to the workplace. Our homes can serve as a metaphor for our lives because, in the floor plan, there are areas that represent the different aspects of life, like wealth & prosperity, relationships, reputation, career, and health. Once you are aware of the pattern in your life and in the places you have chosen to live, you can change it, if you wish. Moving provides each and every one of us the opportunity to change, grow & become more the person we truly wish to be. To live the life we wish to live. When we have some Feng Shui tools to help us, this becomes easier and more profound. The first thing we do when a move is imminent is find a new home. When looking for that new home, keep in mind that this home should in some way be better than the last one. More able to support the things in life you are working towards. Before you move into it, you should establish your energy there in a positive way. This can be done by performing some kind of ritual, something that has meaning to you like burning sage or incense or just setting your intentions of what would you like to have in your life. This process will clear the deck for your new dwelling to receive you & establish you as the new resident.

One of the most important Feng Shui “cures” you can do for yourself is to get rid of anything and everything that you don’t use or don’t love. Even if your great aunt gave it to you years ago because she loved it! This is easier for some people than others & for some things than others. You may find yourself getting very emotional. It is a good idea to have a friend help with this part. He or she will not be attached to your stuff. Donating unwanted items can be a good one. The things you decide to keep should be packed carefully and labeled clearly. Before leaving the previous home find a time to review the experiences you had there, with gratitude, letting go of the past and paving the path for a new beginning. Make sure you take very good care of yourself throughout the entire process. You are not just moving, you are growing & changing. You should be eating well, exercising, getting enough sleep & keeping up with whatever spiritual practice is important to you. This will keep the stress levels manageable & allow you to stay focused on the wonderful new adventure you are embarking on!

As mentioned before, your home has areas that represent different aspects of life. This “bagua” is then superimposed over the floor plan of your home to determine where these areas are. You do this by aligning the three “guas” at the bottom of the map with the front Door of your home. Your front door should be in one of these areas. So that, when you stand at the front entrance, looking into your house, wealth will be in the far left corner, relationships in the far right, etc. When determining the best placement of furniture, it is important to keep a few things in mind. The three most important pieces of furniture you own are your bed, your stove, and your desk. These items need to be placed with the most advantage. The bed is where you retreat each night to rest and should be in a position where you can easily see the door to your bedroom from it. It should not be placed under a window. If you are sharing your home with a partner or would like to, there should be equal sized tables & lighting on either side of the bed. Your stove provides you with nourishment and is not to be visible from the front door. The Chinese believe it represents wealth as well, the more people you can feed, and the wealthier you are. Your desk represents where you do your work. That becomes even more important if you actually do work from home. Your desk should be placed so that you are facing the entrance to the room, you should have a chair with a nice high back with no openings. Aside from these basic guidelines, remember to keep things arranged so that the traffic flow is easy and the feeling is welcoming. These things will allow the energy to flow more freely, helping you to maintain a life that’s peaceful and prosperous. Where these areas exist in your home can be found by using the “bagua” map.

Good Luck!
